Finding continuing education program

I have recently been the recipient of a large amount of money, and some very special possessions of my relative. As she was a great educator herself and so fond of my educational plans, I thought it only fitting to continue my education using the money to fund a couple of programs that will allow me to attend university, and get my master’s degree. It will take me two years from September 2009 through to September 2011. I will have the education I need to pursue my chosen and favorite career in law.

My current job in the law firm has provided some further education, however as they are all based on the premises they do not have the clout and endorsements I need to attend law school. Due to my past educational program, I was fortunate to have the qualifications to become a law advisor in a very prestigious firm. Lately much younger more educated guys and girls have passed me by, when it comes to internal promotions. I am stuck really, due to my exhaustive workload and my ability to cope under pressure, I am left where I am for their benefit and not mine.

I have attempted to consult the human recourses department about my continuing education (in Danish efteruddannelse) , but any discussions about external education outside of the four walls of the office, fall on deaf ears, time and time again. I am a more serious person, and as I am willing to pay for my own individual continuing education program, I thought they were a little narrow minded if they thought I would just stay where I was in a dead end job.

I owe it to my aunt to choose the best continuing educational plan I can afford, after all it is in the honor of her memory. I have booked on the two courses that will give me the points needed to do a bolt on degree in law. Then I can look for the same job, as all these kids get fresh out of university, with no past experience or knowledge. I will be a far better option for good law firms to choose, because of my many years of experience.

With the two courses passed in record time, with an A+ in both, it was time to apply to the university close to my house. I had a recommendation from the last educational establishment I had attended, so I think my application for the Law degree will go through without the normal stumbling blocks normally associated with any application.

Well, moving on by a year and a half, I now have the Master’s degree and am applying for some very prestigious jobs. I have been offered a job back at my old place, but I think that would be a step backwards and they did not have the insight to allow me to continue my education, so what would be different this time.
